First of all, welcome to Screen Ramblings. For my first post, I thought it would be a good idea to go over everything (as well as to discuss my policies about spoilers and comments). I will then link to the post on the sidebar. That way, new readers will be able to see it and read it.
Feel free to just skim this post if you want (I can't force you to read it), but I really do recommend reading it thoroughly (particularly if you're new to the blog). The section on spoilers is particularly vital in order to ensure that no one's enjoyment of a particular show or movie gets spoiled by accident. More after the jump:
The title of the blog should pretty much give away what it's about. I cover weekly TV shows and movies here, although occasionally I may review something else (like a book or album) I find interesting. The shows I watch are listed on the sidebar, though I only generally review a handful of them on any sort of a regular basis. TV episode reviews will usually be posted 1-3 days after the episode airs, but I reserve the right to be a day or two late or even not to post a review if other stuff comes up. It's a good guideline for when to expect things, though. As for movie coverage... I know it's fallen by the wayside a bit in recent months, but I don't intend for that to always be the case. So film fans should stay tuned, because I still do post movie-related stuff on occasion (albeit pretty infrequently at the moment).
Other things on the sidebar include a list of all films I've seen from the current year, contact information, and a section with links to other film and TV related sites. Some of these are rather famous, but a few are lesser-known gems I've discovered over the years. I read all of them often, and each comes highly recommended. I'm always looking for new sites to add, so if you know of any good ones or happen to have your own blog, please let me know. It may get added. You can also follow me on Twitter if you wish.
Next up are my opinions about spoilers. When I'm reviewing a TV show, it should be pretty obvious that I will be discussing events which have occurred in the show—past and present. There's really no way around that, and so TV reviews will most likely contain spoilers. However, film reviews (as well as anything else I may review) will not contain any major spoilers without a clear warning ahead of time. I'll probably put a warning in my TV reviews too, just in case anyone forgets to read this. Also, since the comments section is for discussing a specific film or show, it's definitely a read at your own risk location regardless of whether there are spoilers in the actual review.
And finally... what about comments? Readers at my old blog know that I welcome them, and that I try to respond to them in a timely manner. And of course, you are more than welcome to disagree with my opinions on a given show or movie. But please be civil, whether you're disagreeing with me or with another commenter. This should go without saying, but I think it's probably a good idea for me to say it anyway. Please, no profanity, name-calling, or anything other than a polite exchange of ideas. Any comment that does not meet these standards will be deleted. Also, I'm not a big believer in anonymous commenting, so if you don't have a Google account or some other form of online profile that Blogger accepts, you'll need to create one before you can comment on any of the posts. I recommend a Google account; it's easy and quick to set up.
I think that's about it. Hope you enjoy!
