Happy New Year!

It's the first day of 2012, which means it's time to briefly discuss what I'll be writing about here at Screen Ramblings in the early months of this brand new year. Among TV shows, I'll likely be splitting my time between Revenge and Justified (and perhaps Parks and Rec, which closed last year with a superb trio of episodes after struggling just a bit early in the season). Mad Men's upcoming return will complicate things a bit, but it's not back for another couple of months. So until then, this is the plan. (Plans can change, of course. So don't hold me to anything I say in this post, particularly on the TV end where there are a number of promising new shows that I may decide to cover in addition to or instead of the ones I've already mentioned.)

As far as movies go, I'll be reviewing as many 2011 releases as I can. I can't promise I'll get to every single one I see, but I hope to cover most of the big ones. I've already written a piece on Hugo that I've scheduled to post just a few minutes after this, and I'm also in the process of finishing up a review of Meek's Cutoff, so look for that to post pretty soon (probably next week). After that, I'm not sure. But there are quite a few films I'm interested in from the past year that are either already out on DVD or will be at some point, which means there should be plenty of choices.

As always, my other responsibilities come before this blog, which means that some weeks there may not be any posts at all*, although I'm hopeful that won't happen very often during the first few months of this year. And of course, I'll be updating my Twitter account (usually at least once every day, often more) with my thoughts on film, TV, and any other forms of entertainment that I may be interested in (such as the occasional book or album). So you can generally find me there, even if blog updates are sparse. Again, they shouldn't be. But you really never know.

See you soon!

* I'm pretty sure I've said this many times before, but on the off chance I haven't it seemed worth saying again.
